Proportion-wise, Rhodaelian parallels gothic blackletters at the apogee of their development: narrow, compact letterforms with an emphasis on the vertical; ascenders and descenders reduced to a minimum; stroke (weight) equal to or greater than correspondingly narrow counters; rich, warm tone generated by close-set strokes.
