What is the Ruzicka Freehand™ font?

Designed in 1993 by Ann Chaisson and Mark Altman, this script typeface was based on a proposal by Rudolph Ruzicka to the Mergenthaler Linotype Company in 1939. (Ruzicka designed the Fairfield typeface, and was also an artist and book illustrator.) Ruzicka Freehand is an upright, flowing script face of surprising simplicity; it has the appearance of a monoline face and as such can be used for informal projects, such as letters, and more graphically demanding purposes, such as advertising.
